Referral Process

Essential Skills Assessments

To make a referral or to register for an Essential Skills assessment,

call: 204-282-9980.

A pre-assessment/triage appointment will be booked over the phone. After the pre-assessment/triage appointment is completed, you will be registered for one of the Essential Skills assessments. Once the assessment is complete, an Essential Skills Summary Report will be generated. An Essential Skills assessor will be available to discuss your results.

Employment and Income Assistance Clients

If you are a client of Employment and Income Assistance, please speak with your Case Coordinator (CCO) to arrange an assessment. Upon completion of the pre-assessment/triage and the appropriate Essential Skills assessment, ESM will schedule an appointment for you with a Career Development Consultant (CDC) at Training and Employment Services. ESM will also communicate your progress and share your Essential Skills Summary Report with your CCO and your new CDC. You will also receive a copy the Essential Skills Summary Report, as well as an opportunity to discuss the results with an assessor.

Training and Employment Services Clients

If you are a client of Training and Employment Services, please speak with your Career Development Consultant (CDC) to arrange an assessment. ESM will communicate your progress and share your Essential Skills Summary Report with your CDC upon completion of the pre-assessment/triage and the appropriate Essential Skills assessment. You will also receive a copy the Essential Skills Summary Report, as well as an opportunity to discuss the results with an assessor.

*If you are referred by Employment and Income Assistance or Training and Employment Services, your CCO or CDC will need to provide ESM with your full name, contact information, case number(s), and an Employment & Training Assessment.

Essential Skills Training

Through an Essential Skills assessment, you may be recommended for further Essential Skills upgrading through ESM. If have been recommended,

If you are a client of Employment and Income Assistance or Training and Employment Services, please speak with your Case Coordinator (CCO) and/or Case Development Consultant (CDC) to have you registered. ESM will communicate your progress with your CCO and/or CDC throughout the program.
